Wednesday afternoon was fun...fast paced and filled with a deadline...a rushed job came from America Airlines...yea...The one with all the problems...anyway..some cameraman went out to the airport and shot some footage of the planes and the problem that they are having...
The footage was given to us and it was my job to cut it from ten minutes to three minutes...then I had to make twenty beta tapes from my cut and give it to the news people when they came by to pick it up....so all the major news crews came by...
...anyway..a lady from America Airlines was there watching me and she tells a different story...her story is that the the planes are safe but the problems are following the rules...like super following the rules...meaning on the plane certain wires have to be wrapped and tied together are certain spots...like every inch...
...the footage was showing a workman with a measuring tape showing the viewer that every spot was tied not an inch but every inch and a half...so that means that every inch and a half was tied together with ties and you could see on the video it was pretty safe..
...so from what she said this video was shown to show everybody that the problem is not safety but following the rules more strictly...
...I am sure there is more to that story then what I was told but thats all I have...
...that night I watched channel 11 and the story come on...the footage that I edited was on screen for five shots...five from fifteen...not bad...
...
...the sad part was they didn't hit on the footage that was shown and why...they just talked about the planes and the delays and flying problems and stuff like that...
...no talk about wires or safety...nothing...
...
...
....oh, well...
